Kirby Cove

Kirby Cove is a beautiful three mile out and back trail located right near Sausalito in the Marin Headlands. It is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area just west of the Golden Gate Bridge. The trail begins at the parking area above Battery Spencer on Conzelman Road. Before or after your hike you can walk up a dirt path that takes you right to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a stunning view and definitely worth taking the extra time to do. I recommend arriving early in the morning as parking can fill up fast. It also gives you the opportunity to have the beach to yourself or with very few people. There is also a hidden swing that you can sometimes catch in between when people cut it down and it gets put back up. This is one of many hidden swings throughout San Francisco. Once you get down to the secluded cove, you have beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco across the way.
